FundGuard’s management team has significant experience in small-ticket leasing, finance, and administration. William Mears has been involved in small-ticket leasing since 1974. In 1983 he started a data communication business for claims collection on behalf of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans of New Hampshire and West Virginia. He was Executive Vice President of Prime Financial Group, a regional leasing company, and Chief Financial Officer of Action Group, an equipment sales, rental, and leasing business. In 1993 Mears co-founded CFX Funding, LLC, a pooled funding program for small-ticket leases. He was most recently responsible for indirect portfolio acquisition at LINC Capital, Inc. Mears began his career with General Electric Company and has owned and operated several other companies. He earned a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Harvard University. Michael Rehling has over 30 years of experience in the equipment finance market in executive management and sales. He began his career in medical equipment financing. In 1989 Rehling was hired by the leasing division of a major international bank to drive the growth of the business. His success in that role led to similar assignments with two other bank leasing divisions during the 1990’s. In 1999, Rehling became executive vice president of Venserv, a vendor finance and sales process management company, where he negotiated contracts with major computer manufacturers and helped raise $23 million in venture capital financing. More recently, Rehling has served as head of US sales for a London-based provider of vendor finance solutions, and has consulted to major corporations in the creation of new products and funding opportunities.
